Service Description
Provides services necessary to maintain a stable home for kinship families in which a child or children are being raised by a kinship caregiver because the biological parents are unable to do so. The Family Support Counselors work with the entire family, not just the children, and individualize services to meet the needs of each child and family. The services offered are case management, respite activities, parenting, support groups, family-building events, and legal advocacy through Legal Aid of Broward County, which assists caregivers with temporary custody and other legal matters.
