Kids In Distress

Provides an after-school program to enhance academic achievement, support social and physical development, and strengthen relationships with adults and peers. Children receive homework assistance, structured physical activities through CATCH, Scratch Coding classes, and social skills learning through the PATHS curriculum. In addition, the program offers enrichment opportunities.

Students ages 5-12 of Broward County, including children with an Individualized Education Plan. Transportation is available for children from the following elementary schools: Bennett, Oakland Park, Thurgood Marshall, and Wilton Manors. The program can pick up from Northside, Lloyd Estates, and Sunland Park Academy; Children who attend other schools are allowed to attend, providing the caregiver works out transportation to the program. Income verification is required for families who request no-cost funding through the Children’s Services Council’s MOST program. Must meet income threshold utilizing Federal poverty guidelines to qualify.
