Service Description
Provides emergency psychiatric and crisis stabilization services for those who are an imminent danger to themselves or others or are likely to suffer from neglect or harm if current behaviors continue, such as suicide attempts and hallucinations. The facility can hold patients for a maximum of 72 hours. During this time, physicians and counselors will examine and interview the patient to determine their mental state and the type and duration of further treatment that may be needed, including additional treatment.

Eligibility
Individuals who are an imminent threat to themselves or others.
Application Instructions
For individuals ages 17 and under, a parent or guardian can bring their child voluntarily, but the child must also agree to consent voluntarily. A mental health professional may send someone they've examined in the past 48 hours if they think the patient meets the criteria for involuntary placement, or a court may issue an ex parte order.
