Service Description
Provides services as the official repository for records of the U.S. Air Force, Army, Marine Corps, Navy and Coast Guard and other government agencies. These records include military personnel service records, textual documents, unit reports and rosters, maps and plans, photographs, posters, motion pictures and sound recordings, and electronic records. Most military records, including veteran's military service records, are not online. Casualty reports, photos and other selected military records are available in the Online Documents for Veterans collection.
Eligibility
Veterans, next of kin, and authorized representatives for records under 62 years old. Open to all if the record is 62 years old or more (i.e., Veteran separated from the military 62 or more years ago).
