The Veterans of Foreign Wars (VFW) is a nonprofit veterans' service organization under section 501(c)(19) of the IRS Code and is composed of combat veterans and eligible military service members from the Active, Guard and Reserve Forces. VFW's four main objectives - preserving and extending military and veterans rights, advocating a strong national defense, promoting patriotism and serving local communities - are the core of VFW's existence.
