Service Description

Provides a ten month program administered by Seagull Alternative High school and Whispering Pines Adult Off-Campus that enables adults with a disability and out-of-school youth, to acquire and develop skills to gain self- sufficiency and greater independence. Participants must have an intellectual, emotional or physical disability. Students receive instruction in functional academics, functional living skills, interpersonal skills, recreation, computer-assisted instruction, and pre-employability skills. A safe place to learn with other adults with disabilities

Eligibility

Individuals ages 18 and over, have completed or be officially withdrawn from high school, not be enrolled in Adult or Technical Education programs, provide own transportation or use a social service provider, and attend daytime classes Monday - Friday.

Application Instructions

Individual officially withdrawn from high school, able to tend to personal needs independently and have behavior that is appropriate and is not a disruption or a safety risk to self or others.
