Service Description
Provides direct services to seniors who may have been victimized or taken advantage of by business or service providers. The primary goal is to reduce the victimization of senior citizens who are often targeted for specific crimes based on their age. Each case is handled individually, and confidentiality is maintained under Florida Public Records Laws.
Eligibility
Seniors who were taken advantage of by business or service providers or seniors who did not receive paid services.
Application Instructions
Bring or mail supportive documents to the Seniors vs. Crime Office. Once the documentation is reviewed, a volunteer will be assigned to the case. Any criminal offense claim will be turned over to the appropriate law enforcement agency for appropriate action. In this case, seniors will be assisted through that process. If you call the Seniors vs. Crime Toll-Free telephone number (800-203-3099), you must provide your name and County of residence to be contacted by the appropriate local office. For a complaint filed online on their website by completing the "Request Help Online" Form, please allow up to 10 days before a Senior Sleuth responds.
