Service Description
Provides a foster care recruitment program for professional parents interested in working with youth ages 13 to 17 from a background of abuse or neglect who are ready for and will benefit from a traditional family setting. Prospective parents will receive detailed training and weekly opportunities to connect with other parents and staff; receive 24/7 support through the Chrysalis Health team of professionals, their family therapists, case managers, and program coordinators. Quarterly weekend retreats are available, and a comprehensive respite system is in place.
Eligibility
Professional parents with a passion for helping youth; willing to attend detailed training; provide a consistent environment of encouragement; have raised or are raising adolescents; must have a two-parent family structure; desire to make a difference and understand trauma and its effect on development.
