Service Description
Provides emergency psychiatric and crisis stabilization services for those who are a severe danger to themselves or others or are likely to suffer from neglect or harm if current behaviors continue, such as suicide attempts and hallucinations.

Eligibility
Individuals who are an imminent threat to themselves or others.
Application Instructions
An individual may voluntarily Baker Act themselves. This type of Baker Act can only happen if they are over the age of 18. If they're under 18, a parent or guardian can request it; a mental health professional may send someone they've examined in the past 48 hours if they think the patient meets the criteria for involuntary placement, or a court may issue a Baker Act order.
