Broward County Housing Authority (BCHA)

Provides permanent supportive housing to persons and families experiencing chronic homelessness and have been diagnosed with severe and persistent mental illness (SPMI). Also may have co-occurring substance use disorders, chronic physical illness, or disabilities that impede their ability to live independently.

Individuals and families experiencing chronic homelessness and who have been diagnosed with severe and persistent mental illness (SPMI) may have co-occurring substance use disorders, chronic physical illness, or disabilities that impede their ability to live independently.

Potential applicants are identified by the Broward County Continuum of Care Coordinated Assessment process. Once identified, Henderson Behavioral Health, Archways, Inc., or Chrysalis Health screens the potential applicant for eligibility before referring to BCHA. Please contact the Homeless Helpline (954) 563-4357 or the nearest Homeless Assistance Center to complete the required evaluations which drive the Coordinated Assessment.
